Lameness can be miserable for horses and frustrating for owners. A full lameness investigation will involve trying to establish a diagnosis through a thorough examination, observing the horse move, gait analysis with use of the Equinosis Q objective lameness locator, regional nerve blocks to identify sites of pain and imaging the area of pathology with wireless digital x-rays and ultrasound. We can also organise referrals for further imaging such as MRI or CT scans. Once we have reached a diagnosis we can create a tailored treatment plan which might involve taking the horse to surgery at the Beech Trees site. We also work closely with farriers and physiotherapists for ongoing management and follow your horse's progress with re-assessments as and when required. Our aim is to get your horse back to full work with as little disruption as possible.
