Today we have our very own Holly's Horses!! Most of you will have had many a phone call with Holly but as she is situated in the office, very few of you have actually met her. If you are passing by over the festive period, please do pop in to meet Holly and Pixie (She's not a great office guard dog but offers plenty of free kisses), and help yourself to some festive treats.
Holly and her daughter Jess, have two lovely ex-racers who they have retrained and we love to see what they get up to!

We received these lovely photos from Olivia who owns Amber (chestnut) and Wizzy (grey), who is 27 years old! The first picture shows Amber smiling when she met Richard for annual vaccinations. They are very low maintenance patients but Olivia routinely drops samples in to the office for Faecal Worm Egg Counts to ensure they are only wormed when necessary.
I think you'll all agree, they are very photogenic!
20 days to go! 🎄 We received today's entry from 20 days to go! 🎄
We received today's entry from Ness who sent us some lovely photo's of De. Unfortunately 2019 has not been a fantastic year for De including dental problems, colic and developing asthma. Ness explains: ‘He is not an easy patient, he gets very frightened by injections due to the many sedations for diagnostics and treatments he has needed. I appreciate all of Richard and Meisha’s hard work and patience with him and allowing me to handle him with positive reward based training and counter conditioning to treatments and examinations.’ Richard and Meisha both often work with very nervous horses and encourage positive encounters every time they meet their patients.

Todays entry is Finn, Finn was seen a few weeks ago for a routine Dental exam. His owner Gemma commented ‘Many thanks to Meisha for doing a great job of Finn's annual mouth and teeth check! She's a great asset to Richard and the practice, so thorough and knowledgeable and has a really nice way with the ponies. Thanks again!’ We hope that Finn has a lovely Christmas Holidays with his 2 little Mummys having extra cuddles and doing some pony club activities.#horse #vet #equinevet #dentals #horseteeth #christmas #calendar

Meisha had the pleasure of meeting Sid today, who Meisha had the pleasure of meeting Sid today, who has started on our Equine Health Plan after being bought 3 months ago.
Sid was the perfect patient and stood quietly whilst he had his health check (including eyes, heart and lungs check), vaccination and was a gentleman for his routine dental rasp under sedation (this means we can have a thorough inspection of every aspect of his mouth with minimal stress to him). Our health plan also includes regular faecal egg counts to help avoid worming your horse unnecessarily.

It’s reasonably rare to witness a foaling and ev It’s reasonably rare to witness a foaling and even rarer to have to assist with one. Mares don’t like to be interfered with during the foaling process so we only intervene when absolutely necessary. This evening (the rather large) Aramis required a little help coming into the world. Thankfully, all went well and he is now up and standing and drinking well. I’ve shared the video, despite being a little graphic, as there will be many people who have never seen a foal being born.
